This is the first post in my new series I’m calling These are a Few of my Favorite Things. There are a million different topics my clients ask me about, from what grocery stores to shop in to what protein powders I like to what magazines I get my recipes from or what food documentary they should watch next, and I want to share all of these things with you.

This week, I’m going to let you in on my favorite blogs… but I have a confession first. Even though I blog myself, I’m not a huge blog reader. I do more blog writing than blog reading because when I do have time to read for fun, I prefer it to be in a book on my couch and not on a screen sitting at my desk. That said, there are a few select blogs that I check frequently:

1. The Blog of Tim Ferriss: Experiments in Lifestyle Design

Tim Ferriss wrote the 4-Hour Workweek (a book every single working or unemployed American should read). His ideas are innovative and out-of-the-box and his writing is entertaining, informative and opinionated without being annoying. He has introduced me to so many invaluable tools and ideas I use in my business and every day life.

Reading his blog will make you a more productive (and smarter) person. Some of my favorite posts from Tim have been:

2. Keep it Fresh, Keep it Green

Armed with sarcasm, registered dietitian Beth Mack takes the most popular food fads and nutrition myths head on. Some of my favorite posts:

3. The Lean Green Bean

Written by fellow dietitian and OSU grad Lindsey. She faithfully posts healthy, wholesome recipes and speaks candidly about life with her hubby, her adventures as an RDN and staying fit through her pregnancy. I’ve made lots of her recipes and also steer my clients her way when they’re looking for new ideas but what I love most about The Lean Green Bean is the amazing resources. Lindsey posts weekly Bean Bytes where she shares the best links on the internet she’s found that can range in topic from workouts to recipes to life in general. She also does some amazing giveaways!

4. Hummusapien

She’s hilarious, takes some of the best food photos ever and posts recipes like No Bake Salted Chocolate Chia Bars and Dark Chocolate Raspberry Black Bean Brownies. Thank youuuu Alexis.

5. Danielle Zeigler Coaching Health and Business Blog

Danielle is a holistic health and business coach and blogs about creating a thriving business while maintaining your health and sanity. Ahhh, just what I need. A quote from Danielle: “Too many people are living on auto-pilot, and I’m here to help you wake up. You are in control of your life.”  Some of my favorite posts:
